The less cynical way to look at things is that the second tier that didn’t
change price has now been double is size for exactly what we had been
paying before. The 16 gb maybe to small for some but others it’s just fine.
The bottom tier used to be 8 gb and as things grew that base Buber also
grew so a few years from now the base will prob be 32 or 64 gb. It’s all

Who pays 600+ for a phone?
December 26, 2014 at 10:11 am
thats the foundation of capitalism.. same story on cars, entry levels
everywhere of anything they just are there to atract clients, of course the
competition always tries harder offering better deals, but somehow people
are stupid and sticks with the same choises is easy to see who has the
biggest market share just looking at stuff like this

I just figured they were trying to rip off the average consumer who is
oblivious to specifications and capacities much like they ripped of
customers with an iMac that had the specs of a MacBook Air but a price of a
What you said in the video is actually very true. If they had a 32GB
version up for grabs then more consumers would purchase that instead of the
64GB capacity. By replacing 32GB with 16GB they are forcing people to spend
an extra hundred to increase the capacity. They should at least lower the
price of the 64GB version if they want to pursue this scam. I just brought
a Nexus 6 and the price difference between the 32GB and 64GB capacities are
very small. In Apple’s case its a little more than double.
Apple are just trying smart ways to rip off their loyal customers without
blatantly telling it to their face and people are buying it.
Not surprisingly this is still not going to stop the majority of fanboys
from defending Apple.

Great video! I think it’s great that somebody (from Europe) talks about
this issue. I’m absolutely sharing your opinion on this. Keep telling the
truth about tech bro ! 🙂

Actually what is your point here? Apple did not increase the price it
reduced the 64 gb version’s price 100 dollars. I agree that the 16 gb model
is just a reason to pay 100 dollars extra for more space but you would do
it anyways but you would take a 32gb model instead of a 64 gb model…
December 26, 2014 at 2:21 pm
Loving my 64GB iPhone 6 Plus! I had my niece take her 16GB back the same
day after she told me she went with that model. She’s glad she did now that
she’s having fun in the app store.

I agree this is to pony up more money from consumers. If it was truly fair,
they would’ve increased the base model. The only reason they don’t offer SD
Card slot is so they take home the profit. But still, even with this, it
will not change the loyalty of most consumers.

+Computing Forever “Unrestricted free-market capitalism” LOL! That’s
called consumer choice. You don’t like it, don’t buy it. That’s how
manufacturers and dealers get the message. You want to be part of a
country and society where consumers and companies have buying, pricing and
selling restrictions you’re implying are good, find a different country to

I live in the U.S. And I have the 64GB 6 Plus. If it were the 32 GB there
wouldn’t be a difference. Lol they simply took the 32 GB and replaced it
with 64 GB for the same price it would’ve been anyway. And with installment
billing plans the price literally is a few dollars between each
model/capacity. My bill is cheaper even with having 2 64 GB iPhones on it
with more data. I see this storage crisis as a non-issue. But it’s

I own a older Macbook Pro. Is it true that new Macbooks don’t allow users
to upgrade their ram? I also own
a iPad Mini. I like it but I prefer my Samsung Galaxy tab 2. SD storage
and none of this itunes mess. Didn’t Jailbreak
the Mini. When you buy Apple you have to know you will get less for more
cash. That’s just how it is. I don’t own a iPhone. 16gb seems so
little. Why not just start with 32 gb.
Not that it matters to Apple fans.
December 26, 2014 at 11:57 pm
I disagree. I got 16gb and a bunch of apps and games and plenty of free
space. No movies though.

Many people would be happy with 16gb. You get 20 gb on icloud for photos
and videos for a dollar a month if you need extra, or 5 gb for free. From
what I hear, read and experience, it depends on the Android version,
regarding the matter of transferring apps to the sdcard. If it’s only for
photos and videos, well, only people who are interested in that
functionality, cares. Many people don’t care about gaming, but do care
about lagging OS’s and having the newest gadgets and best cameras, bigger
The same goes for Android.
So there is a customer base for this phone. Like there have been for the
8gb and 4gb phones and tablets(which are still selling), before this one.
On top of that, companies will offer this size as a workphone. Apple has
done nothing wrong, they are just making money.
That said, it’s not for me. Pretty happy with 64gb, but I wouldn’t mind
128gb. Then I could go twice as long, before transferring photos and videos
to th PC.

hell of a mark up.

I had a Samsung Galaxy S4 with 8GB and it was enough for it was doing with
it (photos, vidéos and basic applications with almost no games).
So why an iPhone with 16GB is useless ?

Dave, what is wrong with Apple being concerned about their bottom line and
trying to make more money? It is a capitalist society, and capitalism is
the greatest wealth generation system the world has ever known. There is
nothing wrong with Apple trying to create a product line-up which tries to
lure you to pay a little bit more for an upgraded version. This is what
makes capitalism so great, it is the competition, experimentation and
innovation. If you don’t want to pay the extra €100, then you can go to any
number of Android or even Windows Phone devices which offer different
setups and storage options.
Apple have been very smart and made a very opportunistic business decision.
Only time will tell as to whether it was the correct decision. Consumers
will vote with their wallets. If they don’t like Apple’s line-up, they
won’t buy it.
December 27, 2014 at 12:01 pm
I agree.. I have few apple products including iPhone 5S but this technique
is just ridiculous and I really hate them for that, my next smartphone will
be probably an Android device.
December 27, 2014 at 12:58 pm
In a true free market system, apple, and other electronics companies would
have legitimate competition as there would exist no ludicrous patent, and
copyright laws. Kinda like Jiang Dong and their honda clone engines, these
companies can have no incentive to slack off.
